With more than 250 courses within 26 schools, we train professionals in the Brainport region that employers want. These industry-oriented schools provide vocational training in various learning paths and at different levels.
Summa College is a meeting place, an open learning community where there is room to grow and make mistakes. To discover who you are and walk your own path. To develop the talents you need to keep up, at school, in your work and in society. In short: to become who you want to be and to do what really makes you happy. Within our learning community, students, employees and the business community learn and develop together, with each other.
Talent development is the code word. Getting acquainted with Dynamo at an early age is possible by participating in workshops and lessons at school or after school. Every day young talent that has developed at Dynamo itself teaches young people aged 8-27 in dance, music, sports, art and culture. Dynamo also provides a stage for concerts, events and festivals. As a volunteer in a volunteer group, young people can further develop their talent in event organization, PR & communication, music management, stage performance, dance, music, hospitality, street art, leadership, light & sound, multimedia and set construction. Volunteers, interns and Dynamo staff coach these groups.
If you are a volunteer in the cultural sector or would like to become one, then you are in the right place at KEES. We’ll do everything we can to make your volunteer work even more fun and educational. Volunteers invest a lot of time in festivals, music venues, libraries, museums and other cultural organizations and KEES likes to give something back. In addition to (free) training, we give away goodies, for example. In the job board you can find volunteer vacancies in arts and culture.
At POPEI we organize about 200 activities aimed at talent development every year. These activities range from band performances and singer-songwriter nights to children’s workshops and performances by cultural/educational organizations. In these, POPEI seeks collaboration with other parties as much as possible. Every year, POPEI offers around 2,500 people a stage to actively participate in a musical activities.
About 50 bands and 3 teaching organizations, including Centrum voor de Kunsten Eindhoven and Rock City Institute (an intermediate vocational course for self-employment in the music industry), use our 17 rehearsal rooms weekly, and another 1,000 rehearsal rooms are booked separately each year. At POPEI, we also try to play a stimulating role in actively connecting musicians.
Roadburn Festival has become Europe’s leading underground festival for heavy music of all types. Unrestricted by genre, the Roadburn line up regularly champions scene-defining bands and pioneers alongside up and coming artists who blur the boundaries effortlessly. Despite it’s well regarded reputation and broad critical acclaim, Roadburn remains something of a boutique festival, very much underground in ethos but with big league production values.
Roadburn has approximately 4,500 attendees each day of the festival (a little less on the Sunday), with roughly 75% of visitors traveling from outside of The Netherlands. The epicentre of the festival is the 013 venue, with other local venues making up the constellation that houses the festival acts. The festival is very much embraced by the local community.
The KommuS Castle Festival takes place every year at the Castle Garden of Geldrop. The program is for both young and old, with free admission on Friday night. During the festival on Saturday and Sunday you will find crazy (inter)national top tribute bands, party acts and much more on the big stage!
With lots of party people in front of the stage, enthusiastic bands, acts and a great volunteer crew, the Castle Festival is THE summer event in Geldrop-Mierlo.
